| Drake has another kid out of Texas that they are bringing in for visit, 6'4..180lbs sleeper. was hurt a lot of junior yr. aau so big schools backed off him...good student too. might have to walk on, but can flat out play. hits the 3... drives and scores of the bounce. Think he will visit school this month.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell us the young man's name?
If he ends up walking on, we won't hear anything official until fall (schools can't talk about players who haven't signed a letter of intent until they're on campus and enrolled in class).

If the young man is as good as you say, I certainly hope he comes to Drake, even if it's as a walk-on. As you're probably aware, a couple of former walk-ons at Drake made the all-conference team this season.

| I tried to narrow down who this player might be by looking at Rivals.com's list of Texas players in their database.......There were a couple of pages worth of guys who fit that description.

Konner Tucker (discussed here) came to mind too, and I don't think he's even in Rivals.

| I'm sure that's the player.
Assuming he is a juco .. here is my guess which I'm sure is wrong. But what the heck ....
Kendrell Thompson Plano (TX) Collin County C.C. (same juco as Craig Stanley)
Papa Oppong Carthage (TX) Panola J.C. (same juco as former Bulldog Sean Brooks)

I guess I just assumed it was a high school player, based on what iball23 said about him being underrecruited because he was injured much of his junior season and missing AAU ball.
And, how soon we forget our former players....it's Chaun Brooks, not Sean Brooks. And, he went to Howard College, not Panola. Prack.

| not a joke, saw him play in couple of tournament games and he played very well. Was on a young team that didn't have much varsity experience other than him. If u have seen basketball here u would know it's very hard to win in Texas with so many great players. Believe he was recommended by a scout to Drake, not sure though, this is coming not straight from the source.
