| A Register bloggger says Jethro’s BBQ is under development at 3110 Forest Ave in the old Pizza Hut and DM Police Traffic building. It's being developed and co-owned by Bruce Gerleman, who's a co-owner of Splash and has done some historic renovations in Des Moines. The restaurant should be open in time for Relays. It's great to see a new restaurant in that building, especially when it's run by someone with strong Des Moines ties.

I remember reading about that a few months ago. The restaurant was originally supposed to be in the old Thode's Sporting Goods building at 31st & University, but Drake wanted that land to be an "entryway" to Drake's campus. Drake bought that land from Gerleman and sold him the old Pizza Hut building. The traffic unit will be moving to 25th St. |
