Makes a good fight as a true Drake alum,
Here's to the one who's brave and bold,
Ready to battle like days of old,
Fights like a bulldog for victory!
Oh, here's to the one who wears the "D"!

| My email said call ASAP if you are a season ticket holder who wants your regular seats. I called and they sold them to me on the spot. They can be picked up tomorrow afternoon.

| When I picked my tickets up today, I had a worrisome thought pop into my usually vacant head.
There's no one here buying or picking up tickets.
Are all you people having them mailed or is hardly anyone going?
Two to three thousand doesn't seem like asking too much. It is post season play!
We need to make it at least look like a home crowd.

| The tickets weren't available to be picked up until noon today. If you couldn't get away from work between noon and 5:00 today, you just have to pick up your tickets some other time. I bought my season ticket seats yesterday morning. When I ordered they told me if I paid by credit card I could pick them up anytime or even get them at will call on game day. If you paid for the tickets with a credit card when you ordered, it only takes a few seconds to pick them up so lots of folks could have picked up tickets in a short time.

| I fear we'll have a small crowd on Saturday. The Drake fans who can afford it will be in Tampa. A lot of women's basketball fans that are not hard core Drake fans but usually come to our games won't show because they'll be at Wells Fargo. And a lot of people don't care about the NIT. It's NCAA or nothing.
I'll be there, though. |

| I remember when Drake hosted a WNIT game (vs Utah in '99?) the attendance was disappointing. I think it was well under 2k, and that's when Drake was drawing 4k+ a game. I hope for the best, but with the men's NCAA tourney appearance and the women's NCAA tourney happening downtown that day, I'm afraid Drake might be lucky to go much above 1k in attendance. Why couldn't this game be Thursday like so many other WNIT games?

| There are lots of events competing with the WNIT game this weekend, to be sure. It's Easter weekend, and some churches hold services on Saturday afternoon and evening. Some people will be out of town spending the holiday with their families. And some will still be away on spring break.
And then there's all of the basketball, televised and live. It looks like the Drake women's game was scheduled to fit in between games at Wells. The Rutgers game starts at 1:30 and unless something wierd happens and they actually go into overtime play, it should be done by 3:30. The next Wells game -- OK State -- starts at 7 p.m.
I don't know if there is a kid's ticket price -- I would guess not in post season play.
In times like these, I suppose that you hope that your program's stewardship has been sufficient to generate enough loyalty to make attending the game to support these young women a priority. It helps to have a couple of local players on the team, too, to help draw a few more locals in.

| All good information.
I can't say that I remember the crowd at the previous WNIT game, but we were there.
There is definitely some competition for the entertainment dollar this week-end.
The Easter week-end family thing may cause me some problems for the men's game Sunday. My wife has already informed me that eating and running is out of the question.
Some heavy hitters will be at Wells Fargo and I'm sure a lot of people will be there.
Tickets for the WNIT game are $4 for students, $7 general admission, $13 reserved seating. They also have a package deal for groups of 10 or more for $5 each. All in all, not too bad, but by the time everyone hits the concession stand it can cost a family some money.
Since we can only control 2 people, we will try to see that those two people are there.

| We drove to Omaha for the last game. There was a fan bus and quite a few fans from western Iowa showed up. It was on a week night.
