Drake has received a verbal commitment from Sean Jones, a 6-foot-11-inch cetner from Carson City-Crystal (Mich) High School. Jones averaged 15 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocks while earning all-state honors last season. |

Another Michigander to Drake
Four former Michigan high school players will be on Drake's roster next season -- Bill Eaddy from Milan, Adam Emmenecker from Arthur Hill, Brent Heemskerk from G.R. Christian and Leonard Houston from West Otawa. And the pipeline from the Great Lakes State to the MVC school is still flowing. 6-foot-10 senior Sean Jones from Carson City-Crystal has committed to Drake.
One of the state's top five centers, Jones, like so many big many, has his best basketball ahead of him. Working in his favor is his mobility. Though he plays at a Class C school, he faced big-time competition in the spring and summer with the Grand Rapids Storm.
Apparently this kid's been a D 1 prospect since he was a sophmore---though at 6'9" that's no surprise. Sounds like a good get.

Western Michigan must have known he had an offer from Drake on July 22nd. It also say's he was being recruited by Butler, Oakland, and Loyola. |

| I count two seniors on this year's team, and three guys who say they're coming to Drake next year (Weldon, Faines, and now Jones). Who isn't getting a scholarship?
