Drake will be in a division with USD, Dayton, Butler, Valpo, and Morehead State. I will assume there will be a league championship game to determine the playoff representative. The playoffs will be expanded and pushed back, so the championship game is played in January.

Maybe someone can fill in the blanks on non-league games.

This win is just the first in a long string of what is ahead for Drake Football....Yes it was unimpressive....This is the start

You will soon see and learn just how terrific Coach Creighton is. I am a Drake Alum 76'. My son has played the last three yaers for Coach Creighton at Wabash so I am well acquainted with him. You have truly a very special Man in your midst.

I will be following Drake football quite closely now. I did not know I could get it on the radio? Where? I did watch the Play by play on the computer. I will not make any games this year as I will be traveling to all the Wabash games....but next year I will be there for some live games.

Charlie Partridge (Drake '95) is Wisconsin's Associate Head Coach. He might be the first Drake alum taking a team to Pasadena. Stay tuned.

Let the speculation begin... (Kansas City Star)

Doeren is in his second year as the head coach at Northern Illinois and takes a 11-1 record into Friday’s Mid-American Conference championship game against Kent State. Last year, the Huskies went 11-3, won the conference and a bowl game. He’s a Bishop Miege graduate who played at Drake and coached on Mangino’s first four KU staffs before moving to Wisconsin. A year ago, the chatter was Doeren would be a good fit in the Big Ten or Big 12. Only Purdue in those conferences is open but the carousel is just getting started.

His 10-1 Bobcats play Stony Brook this weekend in the NCAA playoffs.

QB Kade Bell, the coach's son, has been told he has a slight MCL tear. The diagnosis probably puts him out of the season finale v. Drake.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if there are any repercussions from Kerwin Bell's tirade following JU's loss to Butler. Coach didn't like the officiating. Rumors are flying about arrests and a trashed locker room in Indy.

Wins over Butler and Jacksonville would likely result in a tri-championship for Drake. Realistically, our Bulldogs are facing long odds.

Trae Heeter, the PFL's leading rusher, left early in last week's game with an injury. The Butler side is confident that he'll return for Drake.

Dayton

This game should be more of a challenge than last year, when Dayton played without its QB, best RB, and leading tackler. But maybe San Diego has shown Creighton the path to his first win at Welcome Stadium. San Diego beat UD last week, 41-9.

The Toreros played man coverage (v. 4 wideouts) and came after the Dayton QB. I think Drake can do that too.

Dayton's linebackers had trouble dropping into pass coverage last week. While San Diego's QB throws deep and stretched their defense more than Drake can, I think Piatkowski is capable of another big day.

Can't look past this game. Last time we played there, it took an INT returned for a TD by Witkiewicz to provide the winning score. Pike was out with the concussion from Montana State. With the way we played on Saturday,it should be an extremely lopsided affair. There should be a good Drake crowd.

My elitism demands that we play an Ivy League school.

By the time Jacksonville and Davidson play Ivies in 2014, Drake, Campbell, and Morehead State will be the only current PFL schools that haven't played Ivy Leaguers on the gridiron.

I realize that such a game would have to be disguised as some kind of service project/church mission/PR stunt...

...how about playing at Yale? New Haven is a third world country, isn't it?

Another big game this week. We go in leading the FCS in sacks (12), and have multiple players on the leaderboard for individual sacks (Moorehead (1st overall), Park, Acree, Coleman). Indiana State has a running back, Shakir Bell, who put up 192 yards against Indiana. They are also coming off a win against Quincy (44-0). Game is a 1PM central kickoff.

Hello Bulldogs;

Rob Ash is bringing his Montana State Bobcats back to Drake for a visit. We have high expectations for this years team. I know you probably have a bad taste after the way the last game went down. This years Bobcat team should have a very tough defense but so far the offense still looks to be developing, We have a top QB and 3-4 top RB's along with a very good receiver corp, but we have a very young crew on the OL that are still learning.

What is the outlook for your team this year and how is your feeling on this game. I see that you have some suspensions but don't know much more or if it will affect the game.

Little glitch in the reporter's research, however.

In 1986, the Des Moines, Iowa private school chose to cut all football scholarships, dropping the team from a Division I-A playing school — the team won the Aloha Bowl in 1981 — into purgatory.

The Bulldogs said aloha to I-A after the 1981 season. And their last major bowl appearance was in the 1950s.

There's probably a website out there with bogus info.

So It looks like the game will be streamed. Does Bulldog Vision work very good? This is first game in several years that hasn't been televised locally in the state, so lots of Cat fans will likely be trying to use see it streamed.

the $9 is no problem but our own Big Sky TV has not always worked very well, but then its free so maybe you get what you pay for.
