Thanks for sharing the post HB. It's great to get an outsider's perspective on things. I also think it speaks volumes to look at the many areas of play this team seems to have improved upon over the course of November. It says alot about the quality of players we have.

I would not read too much into it. Still early in the year and when you have a lot players capable of contributing, you want to keep as many engaged as possible. Certainly helps with maintaining team chemistry.

Wise words 42. It's easy to sit on the side and say so and so is obviously better than this guy why isn't he getting more minutes. There is a difficult process occurring on this team chemistry wise because in several positions the younger guys have more talent. Coach needs to make sure the experienced guys stay engaged because this team needs them.

Conditioning is not an issue with Wedel. He may just appear to be tired. In summer/fall conditioning NOBODY won more sprints than Ryan, regardless of the distance.

I remember one of the other players saying (about Wedel) that "he just doesn't get tired"[/quote]

Good to know. Thanks. I think RW is a fantastic player - I meant nothing by it. It just seemed to me that he might be winded, but it was only judging by appearance, his game never looked tired - always high energy.

Creighton looked very good and well balanced in the Dayton game I was at, I really thought they should had one the game.
Don't be fooled by the Iona game. These guys are good and with a lot of depth on their bench. I like their chances to win the MVC. Ugh!

I could be way off here, but what my impression of Wedel was after the one game I got to see was that he goes 100% the entire time he is in the game. I just think it is more his style of play, that he needs a rest every now and then, not so much that he is out of shape.

A great win! This was a win ON THE ROAD against a team that 3 starters back from a 19-14 team that went to the HOOPINSIDERS tournament or whatever that was last year post-season. And one of those starters was a pre-season all-conference pick. So this was a HUGE W for the Bulldogs. This certainly has to be a confidence builder for the Dogs, not only to win on the road, but to withstand an AP comeback at the end. Sure we could have made a one-and one or not turned the ball over as much at the end, but the Dogs learned to win in spite of that with some other good play. As Coach said he hoped for them to improve in all 3 areas - rebounding, defense and offense and they put all 3 together for a win. For this young team to win on the road after their slow start should give them a big boost. And Coach has gotten a good look at alot of players in game action and can start settling in on a rotation - we're starting to see some good play from RW, AT, BS, SVD. I'm glad that we're getting it together before we go to Ia City.

Here we go Bulldogs, here we go!

I am encouraged by the better rebounding by our front-court players -- 25 total; 7 each for Van Deest and Templeton. Against Georgia State, the centers and forwards had a paltry 10 boards.

Also, second the comments about the AP play-by-play guy and his Soutern drawl. Very entertaining -- "He puckers the net!" For the most part, he was fairly complimantary about the Dogs; said they don't make mistakes, play smart, and are outstanding from the line. On the other hand, the color guy was probably more of a homer than Cotlar and Dolph.

Looked like improvement. The team looked pretty good with Wieseler at point. He really sees the court well. Hawley finally started hitting some shots, which could really help. Wedel seemed to spend too much time on the bench. Rebounding was better.

Always nice to get a W a on the road. We appear to be improving; good sign with a young team. Looking forward to seeing the guys in person the next couple of weekends. Should be an opportunity to get a streak going heading into Iowa City. Appreciate the game updates on the board.

.... "THAT WAS A MISSOURI VALLEY CALL!!!!" The play by play guy was a great listen. He really liked, Wedal !! Guy sounded like he smoked non-filtered Camels and ran the Tilt-A-Whirl in the off season. The color commentator was a homey from honk'n heck. AP hammered the men pretty good ... truth is, that was a hellva game.

I had a chance to watch the game (thanks, McBulldog!!!!). I echo what BT said about the AP announcer.....he was an absolute trip. Hell, he even got me talking with a southern accent by halftime.

Good effort by the 'dogs. Lost their composure a bit at the end. 3 straight turnovers against the press, then missing the front end of two 1-and-1's. Huge, huge rebound and putback for SVD on the 2nd missed FT.

Nice to see JY shooting the ball well. He would have had more points, but he had two 3-pointers nullified in the 1st half by moving screens.

AT had several big rebounds in the last minute.

Young guys continue to improve. Hawley had a big game, Simons looked good. Van Deest was very solid.

I liked the offense much better tonight. Better ball movement, less 1 on 1, and less screens on the ball. Did anyone else think that RW was on the bench for too many minutes the second half. I didn't see RU in the game. I would like to see him get more minutes vice BE. A good team effort for a nice win.
