I've told numerous people I'm ending it if Drake loses to who I'm naming the worst team in the nation.

Yea, I've noticed the low scoring games. Weird.

hehe I was afraid someone was going to ask that....Well, right now, I think we'd beat them by 15 points. There's a few games in between, so I reserve the right to modify my opinion. I do think that Drake looks far more talented than Iowa.

Agree that teams will get wise to the new guys and will be quick to realize they would rather take their chances of us scoring in the paint rather than giving up the 3.

I expect JY to bounce back. You could tell he missed a weeks worth of practice prior to the ISU game. I would expect we will see better from him as the hip heals and he gets back in game shape.

Improvement was made on D and the boards, just need to put it together with the offense. Also, take a look at the teams that have beat us. They are performing well in their other games, just don't have the name recognition.

Now it gets interesting. Coaches have seen the box scores. Wedel and Simons the new guys on the block can score, so they put some tough D on and their production goes down. JY is getting the same treatment as last year. He is the leading scorer so lets bang him and shut him down and see what happens. l am hoping JY can become the all time leading scorer but at this rate that could be in jeapordy. We will now see how Coach and the newbies respond.

That's the way I see it too. There needs to be scoring from inside the paint, however it gets done -- penetration, post ups. off. rebounds. I am afraid that given Wedel's size he may face the same treatment as JY. I think it is going to be up to the others to create opportunities for themselves and not rely on JY and RWedel to do it all.

i dont think he is doing it based off of the opponent, i think it is more of a focus on shoring up our half court defense before we extend it all the way out to full court. we must learn to play decent half court defense, we cant just go out and play like grinnell and try and out gun our opponent every night. i completely agree that we are light years better when we are out and running though but we have to be able to transition from our full court press into our half court and actually have a chance of stopping someone.. i think playing 3 games in 3 days also might have played a factor in not pressing as much as well.

The prevent offense is in full force. Simons was scoring way to many points so Phelps was forced to address that. I think we are finding our place, or Phelps' place, which he is comfortable w/, which is in the 50's.

Backwards in a relative sense. Teams are manning up and the offense is struggling because our newbies need to make the same leap in their offense fundamentals that htye have made in their defense ones.
