Oh please. Those are all true for Iowa too. I have some Iowa ones around here somewhere.

Vacation means driving through the Amanas or going to Adventureland

Down South to you means Missouri

You have no problem spelling or pronouncing "Des Moines"

You know the answer to the question, :"Is this Heaven?"

You know where all the Yoders live (or Andersons, or Van den Bergs)

You know what "hawks" and "clones" are

All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit or vegetable

You can locate Iowa on the map

You've ever been on a "Geode Hunt"

Your idea of a really great tenderloin is when the meat is twice as big as the bun and is accompanied only by ketchup and a dill pickle slice

You say "catty-wampus" instead of "kitty-corner"

You've never taken public transportation

You have boiled fish in lye for Christmas

You know what "uff-da" means and how to use it properly

You know what "Amish Country" is

A South Dakota farmer, with a nephew who plays basketball at Drake, is suing a trucking company for injuries he sustained in an accident. The company's lawyer, Mr. Green, questions the South Dakota farmer in court.

'Didn't you say, 'I'm fine, ' at the accident scene?' Mr. Green asks.

'I had just loaded my favorite cow, Bessy, ' says the South Dakota farmer.

'I'm not asking for details, ' Mr. Green says. 'Just answer the question.'

'I am, ' the South Dakota farmer says. 'I had just loaded my favorite cow, Bessy into the trailer when...'

'Didn't you tell the state trooper that you were fine?' Mr. Green interrupts.

The judge stops Mr. Green's questioning and tells him to let the South Dakota farmer tell his story the way he wants to.

'So, anyway, ' says Farmer Templeton from South Dakota, 'I loaded Bessy in the trailer and started driving down the highway when a huge semi-truck ran a stop sign and smacked into the right side of my truck.

'I was thrown into one ditch and Bessy was tossed into another. I could hear her cries for help but I was too hurt to move, ' Farmer Templeton says.

'Then a state trooper came by and I heard him talking about Bessy. He said she was a complete loss. Then I heard a gun go off and Bessy stopped moaning, ' Farmer Templeton says.

'What does this story have to do with anything?' Mr. Green asks.

'The state trooper walked over to me and said, 'Your cow was in bad shape so I shot her between the eyes. How are you doing?''

AT's uncle here. Sorry but stayed in SD to attend and compete in college. l got down to a game last year and even hit the West End. l met alot of the people here on DN. l must say a great bunch of people AND DIE HARD Drake supporters. l watch most of the games on the net, so l can appreciate the comments here. Keep up your great support it's people like you that make Drake the quality that it is.

When I watched Bart Friedrick play I was "hooked". Dude could not dunk to save anyone's life. Anywho, Drake b-ball fan since 80's. 97' UNL alum/current med student....Vets was fun to watch games. Weirdest game was watching what I think was the Mexican National team get into some kind of scuffle. Can't remember the year....

After 21 years in SoCal I know exactly what you mean, but those down vests sure come in handy when the temperature drops below 65. When you're surfing at Hole in the Fence on Christmas Day, give a shout out to Neptune for me.

Drake fan since the 50's when my mother and I moved back to SW Iowa. Local pharmacist was a Drake grad. Followed Willie Cerf, Bob Tealer and Red Murrell via the Register and an occassional trip to see them in the fieldhouse. 1963 grad and to med school at Iowa where I became good friends with Maury John's son, Maurice. Started supporting program at that point. Did some informal recruiting for program in New Orleans, Denver and California back when it was allowed. Totally hooked on being a Drake fan and booster. Season ticket holder since about 1989, lived in Ca since 1973. Go Bulldogs

Business graduate '81.

During my four years at Drake I had the great privilage of watching Larry Bird and all the other talented Valley players during that time period, including our own Lewis Lloyd and Wayne Kreklow. Lots of great memories at the Vet and from road trips to Creighton.

After graduation I made the long journey back to my homeland so that I could spend my remaining years living with my people under the warm sun in southern California. Some of that warmness will soon be gone since winter is near; that means I will have to pack away my light T-shirts and pull out those made with heavier cotton. Winters are such a bitch.

Loving our Dogs this year and I'm excited to see what happens. Go DU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'83 Alumni, son Jeff is a Drake freshman. Drake basketball fan since 1979. I remember DUBulldog telling me before the 1979-1980 season about a junior college transfer who was going to be an immediate big star. Great memories of games way back then and all the great games since. I usually get to 3 to 5 games a season.

Highlight for me was attending the game at Butler in 08. Also went to Tampa for NCAAs. Make most games at Creighton. Going to take a few years to be competitive again in The Valley.

82 business grad currently working in Minneapolis. MN not Kansas like Wedel.

I was a 15 year season ticket holder before moving to MN. My last year was 97-98. That was a tough year. My 5 year old son used to ask as we went to the game. Is this the one we lose (Men's) or win (women's). I've averaged attending just over a game a year.

BA in Politics 03' probably should have been 90' but life takes it's course. Currently working on my MAT at Drake should be Dec 10'.
3rd Gen Drake grad. Possibly a 4th at Roosevelt this year.
