No. He said they were GETTING READY to make an announcement. Announcement preparation frequently takes 8-10 weeks.

Cool...that means that they're about halfway through the announcement preparation process.....I'm sure Keita44 will keep us informed as to when we're getting close to the actual announcement. I can't wait.

He was pretty good, I think his stats from Tyler JC speak to that. You've got to consider that he played for Gary Garner who did not allow players to shoot during the game for fear they might score. Daryl Lloyd would have probably averaged 25ppg playing for anybody else. Joey Wright went from 2-3 ppg to 20+ when he transferred to Texas.

From the 1987-88 Blue Ribbon Yearbook:

The third junior college transfer is 24-year-old junior Donahue Kinsey, 6-4, from Tyler (Tex.) JC. The Army veteran averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds last season at Tyler and also is a top defensive player.

The 1988-89 Blue Ribbon mentions that he averaged 2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game as a junior for Drake. No wonder I don't remember the guy.

Curtis Stuckey? That's funny for a lot of reasons, including that he transferred to Bradley.

There's a Donahue Kinsey who transferred from Tyler JC in 87. Seems to fit, although I'd have sworn it was a year or 2 earlier on the guy being thought of.

Since you all brought it up ... that guy was great. Pretty sure it was with Melvin Mathis and Glenn Martin and them, came in as an enforcer. Maybe a year or 2 later also. Definitely under Garner, though.

Since you brought it up, Lonnie played for the Quad Cities Riverhawks this year, in the Premier Basketball League, whatever that is. David Bancroft, too.

Won a division title, too. At least they won something post-high school.

That'd be the ONLY reason I would go see the energy play, having an actual NBA All-Star, like O'Neal or Nash.
