If I remember right, STL was in the Mo Valley in the 60s. It makes perfect sense to me, but what a huge home advantage for the tournament.

What's most alarming to me is the 5 days or so of class attendance in 3 weeks. Seems like the NCAA would look at that and say "this is ridiculous--fix it" to the administration, with the fix being moving to a conference with manageable travel. The AD and the university rep. for intercollegiate athletics should be freaked out at the number of absences being accrued.

Majerus has been saying this pretty much since the day he took the job at SLU. But, I think the administration and their fan base for some reason think that they're above the MVC. Not like the A-10 is that much better, and the travel expenses have to be ridiculous, especially when you realize that most of those expenses are for the so-called non-revenue sports. SLU has probably been in 5-6 different conferences in the last 40 years, and never really been dominant. It's almost like they think that whatever conference they're in is bringing them down (like some WSU fans) and that if they could just get into the right conference, they'd be world beaters.

Atlantic-10 too much travel, trouble for Saint Louis
