It's being developed and co-owned by Bruce Gerleman, who's a co-owner of Splash and has done some historic renovations in Des Moines. The restaurant should be open in time for Relays. It's great to see a new restaurant in that building, especially when it's run by someone with strong Des Moines ties.</div><br><br>I remember reading about that a few months ago. The restaurant was originally supposed to be in the old Thode's Sporting Goods building at 31st & University, but Drake wanted that land to be an "entryway" to Drake's campus. Drake bought that land from Gerleman and sold him the old Pizza Hut building.
