The St Paul Pioneer Press named McSparron its player of the year for Dakota County, south-southeast of the Twin Cities. The newspaper has a good profile on her as she heads to Drake.

Don't worry. They're working on digitizing audio and sending it as text to Internet-connected contact lenses so the recipient doesn't have to look down. By the time your daughter gets there, she'll be asking "Dad, what's a cell phone?"

McSparron was named First-Team All-Metro in Minneapolis:

A second-team pick a year ago, McSparron averaged 22.2 points and three steals for the state-bound Lightning. She had seven steals in a Section 3 title victory over Park. McSparron has signed with Drake and plans to major in pharmacy,

There's also a question and answer for all the first-teamers at the end. Note that all of them say their record for cell phone text messages in a month is over a thousand, and one says 12k I suddenly don't want my preschool daughter to grow up

This site says that Brittnye McSparron (not a typo) has given a verbal to Drake. There's no source for the information, but the site is usually accurate from what I've seen. McSparron is a 5-8 guard at Eastview High School in Apple View, MN. She scored 21.4 ppg last year and was honorable mention all-state as a junior playing in (I think) a large-school class.
