From reading the article, it sounds like Eastview's coach made a mistake in not fouling the opponent on the final possession. When you're up 3 with only a few seconds left, I don't know why you wouldn't foul.

King at the line to make the lead 3 .. sinks the first one ... time out ... makes the 2nd one for a 3 point lead. The kid for Prarie Eden, Shaffer, just hit his 3rd 3 in a row in the past 45 seconds to tie the game ... going in to overtime. WOW!

King is a versatile player who has the ability to score from all spots on the floor. He can beat you just as easily from beyond the arc as on the block. He also does the ballhandling for the Lightning in certain situations. The prolific scorer, who averages 23.8 points per game, is headed to Drake.

Weird make up of first team. Four seniors are going to Northwestern, Harvard, Creighton and Drake with Tyus going whereever he wants.

I was in MN over the weekend, and a lot of people up there are disappointed the Gophers didn't sign Joey King. He's the best player for the best team in the state, so yeah, you'd think the only D-1 school in the state would have a good shot at him. It sounds like he's a great recruit, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in blue and white.

Trevor was the star player until he went down with ACL injury early in season. Per Pioneer Press Tweet Eastview beat Apple Valley and Tyus Jones 57-53 with each (Tyus and King) scoring 20. Far cry from the one game where they combined for 70. I believe both were ranked in top 5 of State and Eastview will make next weeks state tourney.

Congrats to Joey King on his team making the state tourney!

Following my post will be the boxscore from the Pioneer Press. Another low scoring game for Joey, but it was a low scoring game overall. The big Junior was the leading scorer. Unsure if it is the other teams picking their poison or if Oberfield is coming on.

Eastview 27 24 - 51 Rosemount 25 19 - 44

Eastview: Haugh 8, Trusty 9, Bolger 4, King 11, Oberfield 19.

Tyus is one heck of a sophomore point guard, but he scores too much for Drake to recruit. I think somewhere it was posted that Drake is recruiting Joey's teammate who was the leading scorer for Eastview yesterday......"Tyus Jones scored 45 points but Apple Valley came up short"

I'm not saying we should recruit him. Heck Duke and Michigan State are after him with their head coaches attending games besides those you listed. I was referring to the scoring point guard comments in the Richard Carter thread.

After a work transfer to Minnesota, the first high school bb game I went to, I thought the opposing team had brought along their home jerseys by mistake. I then discovered they are backwards in their bb uniforms in Minnesota. I had lived in Iowa, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, and Louisiana before arriving in MN and all those states did the conventional white home uniforms. That, of course, also includes the NBA and all college BB. Minnesotans merely think that everyone is out of step but them. In MN, my future wife took me out to meet her kin at the family farm and while I was there someone asked me if I would like some 'hot dish'. Not knowing exactly what that meant, I sputtered some lame answer. The family probably wondered what kind of a zero did she bring home. In MN it is 'hot dish', in the rest of the world it is casserole. Again, everybody is out of step but MN. Our state has elected a Socialist US Senator, Paul Wellstone, a vile airhead US Senator, Al Franken, a circus clown Governor, Jesse Ventura, and has one of the most despised US House Members in Michele Bachmann, so the track record here is shaky in elected officials. In Minnesota away teams wear white. Joey King with 37 points, he's also a pretty good rebounder, if he can put on a few pounds of muscle I definitely think he will be a useful player for Drake.

Eastview beat Madison Memorial (ranked #1 in Wisconsin's big-school class) 64-37. King scored 11. It sounds like Eastview is a pretty good team, and King is the best player on that team.
