When you start getting a mentioned in recruiting articles with the big boys, you know you have arrived:

The tournament MVP easily went to David Brown of the Illinois Warriors. He had six three-pointers and 23 points in the title game and that was just the crowning on a fantastic weekend for the Warrior shooting guard.

As reported on Gopher Illustrated Saturday afternoon, Brown's play this spring has garnered him new offers from DePaul, Oklahoma State, Bradley, and Drake plus interest from Iowa, Wake Forest, and Marquette.

Josh Lenz

Like Wahlert's Eric May, Lenz is a D-I prospect in two sports. Before coach Keno Davis left for Providence, Drake was intrigued by Lenz. In fact, it says that he signed a letter of intent to play for Drake, but reconsidered after Keno left. Troya is a 6-7 senior at Bolingbrook High School in the Chicago area. He averaged just under 4 points and 4 rebounds last year, so I'm guessing that if he signed anything it was a not-so-official letter of intent to walk on at Drake. He's originally from Ecuador, and will return there for a year and treat his time like a prep school year.

This story also mentions a couple of his teammates that could be prospects. The best is Troy Snyder, a junior 6-6 forward who averaged 11.9 points and 6.8 rebounds last year. He's heard from other MVC schools and his coach says his academics are "stellar."

Jared Vlastuin

Jared Vlastuin has verballed to play basketball at Drake starting 2007-2008. If Columbia wins Wednesday, it will mark the third straight year Leslie and his teammates will play for the state title.

Leslie said he will focus on his recruitment once the season is over and Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Central Florida, Drake and Penn State are in the mix.

He will hit the road for some visits in the near future and a decision will be coming shortly thereafter.

question about Drake recruiting???

Got a question for you Drake bball recruiting gurus out there... who are they bringing in for the 08 class? I don't think Bruns is on the radar anymore and he has stated in interviews he is leaning toward playing football in college. IowaPreps has the Alex Weldon ranked ahead of Burns. But, if Drake is still actively recruiting for next year, what the heck does that mean?

T.J.
