Ian Davis 6-3, 343.
Stephen Flynn 6-5, 353.
Kirk Lakebrink 6-4, 368.

Would these Drake linemen be better players if they slimmed down a bit?

Many Younger Offensive lineman gain a lot of weight from senior HS to college freshman, as much as 60 lbs. Mostly from the notion that to be a college olineman, you have to be heavy. Not necessarily (See Matt Haas)

Hey DUOline... quit paying attention to our dribble and concentrate on preparing for UNI..

Leave this to us washed up old timers for this week...

The thruth is, yea they gain a lot of weight after hs, lakebrink is actually down to 335 now, and he is 6-6 not 6-4 big differece, still weight to lose, but huge difference, the other two are freshman that are making the same steps, not every freshman comes in ready to play and makes those mistakes, but that is wat the weightroom is for

Different school, same story.

"We want leaner guys because the flexibility allows them to play with leverage," McLaughlin said. "Being physical is not just a by-product of strength, aggression and effort but leverage, as well. We want our players to be able to bend, and flexibility affords that."

Agreed, did you see UDS's O-line last night? they were big, but not as moble as their UNO counterparts. UNO's linemen where leaner and meaner and it showed.

Looks like Flynn agreed as he dropped 34 pounds and one inch according to the 08 Media Guide. However he didn't dress for the opener. Don't see the other two listed this year.
