| | I don't know the answer, but I suspect the rest of the schedule is on hold until we get a coach. |

| | There's no doubt Drake will get Woodley's Grandview team on the schedule eventually. Will they start playing in 2008? |

| From the Register:
She (Clubb) said the football program will begin to center its efforts to be recognized similarly to Northern Iowa, though Drake doesn't offer athletic scholarships....Part of that effort will be to begin compiling a better nonconference schedule that eventually could include opponents from the Ivy League, the Northeastern Conference or the Patriot League instead of NAIA or NCAA Division III schools.
No quotes to support the comment on scheduling. Did the reporter make this up?

| bincitysioux (11/26/2007) Just wondering if anyone thinks or has heard if Drake would be willing to play at North Dakota in 2008?
The Sioux apparently picked up (D-III) Wisconsin La Crosse. No Drake on their schedule this year. |

| | The Drake website confirms Lehigh on the road for Sept 6, 2008 . The return game is scheduled for 2010. The 2009 week is a home game v. Platteville, I believe. |

| | The scheduling of Lehigh was a real jump start for the football program. Now -unfortunately -the addition of Willie Penn is dragging us back to the gridiron backwater. |

| This will not be a playoff caliber Lehigh team (5-6 last year). One observer whose football knowledge I respect told me they are "fast and sloppy."
They lost to an average NEC team two years ago. But will Drake even be that good?
The Bulldogs' o-line and running game are getting a major overhaul. The defense must replace the entire secondary. Cale Hunt's arm may not be ready...a number of freshmen made a hasty departure, leaving depth thin...there's a new coaching staff.
Well, we've got the same long snapper.
Thank God DU isn't playing a Gateway team. |

| | How does Drake determine its football schedule? I'm sure a number of games are PLF assigned or selected by some type of subdivision, but what about the non-conference games? I've seen reference to payout or payday, and that Drake won't pay, but I'm lost to this concept. Being new to PFL, things are a bit different. Just take me a while to get used to it. |

Last year must have been rough, but now we enter Year One of the Creighton era. Turnaround may be just a pipedream now, but already a positive, competitive attitude is forming. Several enthusiastic new guys coming on board will just add to the spark. Spring game is just around the corner.
I'm looking forward to be in on the ground floor of what's to come. |
