I know folks who are pretty tight with Zach in the Cedar Rapids area. The man is just plain good people. The only question I have is when he addressed the crowd the other day after winning, he said something like, "... my wife came back after 10 years..". Now I know he must have meant something like she came back to St. Andrews or whatever, but to the avg. Joe it seemed like he was crying because his wife came back to him. HA! What the hail was he saying?
On a side, I tried to DVR the final round and the award ceremony, DirectTV wouldn't let me! I got a message that said this event was blocked from being recorded. I've never seen that before.

I read both articles DUBulldog posted to straighten me out. It appears that both donations, 100,000 in 2006 and 50,000 in 2010, were actually made by the PGA on behalf of the Ryder cup team members. Apparently each team member was allowed to direct the donation to the school of his choice. He did not have to designate Drake, and I am glad he did, but he had to designate some school to which the PGA would make the donation. It also appears that the money had to be used for some program to introduce students to the game of golf.
He has no obligation to make any donations. I just thought it was a good suggestion.

So Drakey, you are implying that Zach has never given Drake a penny but that the PGA has, right? DUBulldog, your turn.

Maybe he has, maybe he hasn't, donated to Drake. If he chooses to make a donation, in addition to the $150,000.00 through the PGA, I'll ask Sandy to ask ZJ to forward a hand written letter to you, Drakey, asking if the amount is sufficient enough.
Since you want it to be made public, Drakey, how much do you donate each year?
I don't know your net worth, and really don't care. However, let's say you're worth $35 million; how much would you like to donate to Drake? How would you want the school to spend the money? Would you want it the Times Delphic? Would you want a building named after you? Maybe change the school name to Drakey University?
I know it's the summer and, like the media, you need to create controversy and complain. However, I'm not sure why one's character has to be challenged because he/she is on top.

You asked if he had ever even acknowledged going to Drake, and I thought that was acknowledgment to me.
